      • Eatery e- vehicle charging stations

Problem: The chief limitation to the proliferation of electric vehicles in this decade will be the lack of charging stations nationwide.
Solution: It will be necessary to create this marketplace, and Slow Money and entrepreneurs who open Interstate- exit eateries can make it happen. The concept is that the charging is the draw to the metered power-equipped eateries. The benefits are relaxed, rehydrated, and refreshed drivers and profitable eateries. The federal and state governments will share in the sponsorship and funding of the capital assets of these start-up, lottery-allocated enterprises. The continued lease operation of these stations will rest with…

        • Portraits of the Solidarity Economy

We are in the midst of a crisis of economic imagination. Many of us are taught (and believe) that there is only one way to do business: cut-throat competition. We start thinking businesses focused on anything other than profit will fail. We grow up believing we're stuck with what we've got, even though these kinds of enterprise harm communities, workers, and the environment.

In New York City many are imagining--and creating--another way to do business. They are economic innovators combining new and old practices to align their businesses and organizations with strong values of justice, sustainability, democracy, and cooperation. Together,…

                          • Tootsies

A wonderful Italian cafe that serves lunch and breakfast. It's located across from Lucile Packard Children's Hospital and the Italian owner Rocco is a wonderful person who takes an interest in his customers. He had great empathy for us when going through a health crisis with our daughter. When we are in the area now we always stop in for the wonderful sandwiches, breakfasts and coffee inspired by the Emilia-Romagna and Puglia regions of Italy. When we were there recently I saw some letters of thanks from the hospital, I believe the restaurant caters for some of their functions.
